An Overview of Gambling Games
Gambling is defined as the act of risking something of value in a game of chance to obtain a desired outcome. Gambling addiction is usually discovered when there is a loss of access to money and/or negative actions occur. Gambling addiction or problem gambling is known as “hidden addiction” because there are no visible signs. Unlike alcohol or drug addiction, you cannot visibly see the effects of a person's gambling. For example, if someone has been drinking, you may smell alcohol or have difficulty speaking. Due to the lack of visibility, those suffering from gambling addiction are often able to hide it longer than someone with alcohol or drug problems.
Popular types of games of chance are:
Casinos and car racing
Lottery tickets/fail or rap and win
Sports bets
Betting on horses, roosters and dogs
Bingo in public places or churches
Raffles at work or school
